Q: Why am I unable to book Saturday nights or Sunday?
A: Saturday 3-10pm and Sunday 10am-5pm are our public "lockin" gaming sessions. If you booked these times, then you would have many unexpected guests arrive.
Q: Can I still celebrate a birthday during a "lockin" gaming session?
A: Sure. We have 2 party rooms available to book. You have your own private party area, but share the machines with the public.
Q: Do I need to book for a "lockin" gaming session?
A: No. We have a large venue and we would reach capacity.
Q: Do I need to book for a Tight Arse Pizza session?
A: (ON HOLD DUE TO COVID RESTRICTIONS)
Q: Do I have to pay if I am just supervising my kids?
A: No. If you are not playing the games, then there is no entry fee. But if you see everyone having a great time and you change your mind, you can always pass by the counter and upgrade to a playing wristband.
Q: Do you issue passouts?
A: We give everyone a wristband as they enter. If you wish to leave for a cigarette or to get something to eat, then just show your wristband upon re-entry.
Q: Do you have any special events or sessions?
A: We have had many pinball and arcade competitions and tournaments. These have slowed down due to covid restrictions but will be slowly reinstated over the year.
Q: What are the various age limits and pricing?
A: Prices are different for different sessions. But generally Kids are aged 5 to 14 years, Adults are aged 15+. Kids under 5 years are free with a paying adult. Spectators are free.
Q: Can I bring in my own food and drink?
A: Yes. We do have drinks available, plus packets of chips, chocolate bars and lollies. But you are still welcome to bring in your own.
Q: Do I need to pay a deposit for a party booking?
A: Yes. When you book a party, there is a $50 deposit. Private party will be invoiced for the balance which is due on the day of the event.
Q: Can I drop off my kids to a lockin?
A: No. There must be someone aged at least 15 to supervise the rest of the group. As we are not a registered childcare agency, we are unable to be responsible for other peoples children.
Q: Can I hold my 80th birthday at GameRoom Essentials?
A: Yes, it wouldn't be the first. We don't stop playing because we grow old. We grow old because we stop playing.
